A fence from metal strips: spacing and quantity
Fence strips are used to enclose and divide space — yards, terraces, passages. They are made from the same sheet as the gutters, but the shape of the profile makes them surprisingly rigid for half a millimetre of steel.
Sizes and quantity
The strip is 69 mm wide. The gap between strips is up to you. In our experience the best look comes at 42 mm; in practice 40 mm is most common, because an ordinary 20x40 mm rectangular tube serves as the jig.
At that spacing you use 9 pieces per metre of fence.

Fitting
The profile is shaped so the strip fixes simply and securely to the fence frame, with self-tapping screws or pop rivets.
Once a panel is formed, the top ends can be covered with a U-shaped cap that protects against accidental cuts on the sharp profile ends.
Maintenance
Maintenance is minimal, and for the strips themselves there is effectively none. The frame carrying them deserves more attention, so that it lasts as long as the strips do.
Strips and gutters made from coated K&J&G sheet should last at least 30 years.
